Herman Cain for President

Post by scifidawn on Sun Sep 25, 2011 6:31 pm

I have not completely decided yet, but every time this man opens his mouth, I respect him more and more. For any of you who are of voting age, you may want to investigate. I am very impressed.

Are you a Paulite, as you put it? Of course you have a right to select who you want, but, no, I am very strongly for Mr. Cain, and the more I hear of him and what he says and the calm and mature way he presents himself, the better I like him. I watched Romney and Perry going against each other like children. Mr. Cain, presented his facts. If there were a vote tomorrow, I would go for Mr. Cain. One never knows what can happen in a year, but, he is a business man, he has wonderful ideas and we need a good business mind to get us out of this mess.

Let's see a guy who hates muslims and would never hire one, wants to ban mosques, is against healthcare, against supporting alternative energy resources, refuses any negotiations with North Korea, doesn't want to withdrawl from iraq, is against gay marriage, he's the little bitch of corporations and doesn't want to fund Planned Parenthood(you love him for it don't you?)

Yeah I can see why you would want to vote for him

That alone turns me off from him. I mean whats everyone got against Mosques anyways? Oh right mosque = Terrorist Recruitment. Sad

Alright I got another question. Whats wrong with supporting alternate energy resources? Lets forget all about global warming or... well climate change. Lets ignore that. Whats wrong with the idea of finding other sources of energy? I mean sure we got oil... and I mean its not like nothings bad ever come out of it. I mean not like any tanker ship things ever you know spilt or oil rigs fudging stuff up and contaminating the oceans or something. Oh wait.

But no seriously. Why would anyone actually be against it? Nuclear energy is a pretty sweet deal. I did a bit of research on it for a speech i had to give in high school. It turns out, you know despite everything that could happen, is actually rather safe. Then theres wind and solar. Solar seems pretty sweet. I mean who doesn't love the idea of using the Sun to give us even more energy? And so on.

Now to North Korea...

Would it even be possible? I mean I suppose if the current dude in charge whose name is like Kim Jong something... dies and is replaced by like someone different then maybe? But I just dont actually see it even being an issue anyways.

BUUUT. I suppose in theory we should be open to negotiations.

I actually just dont see the reason, other then greed because well thats obvious, to be against it?

and other things of course I could point out.

But I should be watching Doctor Who and I keep pausing the video... So thats all.

Alright I got another question. Whats wrong with supporting alternate energy resources?
That's an easy answer. Politicians are pretty much the dogs of lobbyists from the big companies. And oil has and stuff has one of the most solid power bases.

And it works like this. As long as the goverment gives support towards developing alternative energy resources those scientists and co can stay independent and develop it.
Now when you leave it to the so called free market these scientists need investments. So the big companies usually through daughters firms get in on the ground floor, buy all the patents and pretty much take the project in their own hands.
And this goes right back to university level as well. You have quite a few institutes, universities and scientists who are all employed and controlled by the big business to provide data that they want
The so called "free market" is one of science and progress as whole biggest killers but republicans have this pavlovian reflex where their brains shut off as soon as they hear the words free market and they just cheer.

Now to North Korea...

Would it even be possible?
You are pretty much negotiating all the time. Kim does something crazy, the west gives some aid in food or whatver and Kim tones down the crazy. But taking a hardline "force" approach to a clearly insane guy who is armed with nuclear weapons and millions of man....not exatly a smart idea imo

Hell no, I am not a Paulite! He is only slightly less crazy than those other bozos.

Herman Cain is a bigot.

I think I'm going to have to go with Bama, maybe he will grow a pair, but
maybe not, who knows? Either way, though, it is better than what the Republicans pulled out this year.

On the bright side it's good to see that we don't have any muslim members. With Dawn's enthusiasm for this guy she would have probably gone on a campaign to get them banned from the forum

I always tell people that depending on who gets elected I'm moving to Canada. That might become reality some day...
I'm like 99.9% sure I'll be voting for whoever the Democratic candidate is.

I refuse to look at anything that has to do with the election until next year. However, from the responses this dude sounds like a giant douchebag. I loathe politics, it makes people act stupid and mean. In the end you vote for the lesser asshole, not the person you think will better the country. I didn't vote in the 2008 election because I was out of state and too lazy to do an absentee ballot, but I would have voted Obama simply because I can't stand Palin(I still maintain that she would have knocked off McCain if he had won, youu betcha).

Isn't Ayan Muslim? She hasn't been around in awhile but I'm pretty sure she is, but I could be wrong. scratch

She is. Dawn was on really good terms with her, and professes much love for her fellow Abrahamic monotheists in general, so I wonder how she reconciles Herman Cains feelings about Islam with her own?
