Really beautiful songs

Post by Rex on Sun Sep 04, 2011 10:50 am

You know how they always say that music is touching soul and all that stuff? Well in my experience that's not usually the case. It's usually just fun, sometimes annoyingly catchy but nothing that special. Even when you can connect with the songs. The one exception I have are usually either opera singers or signers who are as talented and have a voice as amazing at them. And even among them very few songs actually catch my attention.

But enough of my rants let's go back on topic. Namely post those songs, you know the very special ones that you just find extremely beautiful and touching.

I'll start with the song that inspired this show. Abigali's song from the Doctor Who's Christmas Special Smile

In this one there is a bonus for the people who love art

This song has a few versions but this one is my favorite

This one is not bad either

So what are your favorites ?Smile

This is one of my favorites as far as beautiful songs go. It's from the Cirque du Soleil show La Nouba that shows down in Orlando, Florida. No idea what language it's in, but it's a great song to listen to, I think.

There are some pretty good instrumental pieces from those shows too if you search around a while. For instance, this is my favorite from that show.

okay, three specific songs come to my mind when I think of songs that have caught my attention, and my heart.

On The Wing by Owl City (this is my all time favorite song by him, even though I pretty much love every song he's done)

Lonely Lullaby by Owl City (sorry it's live)

Blackbird, The Warblers version (though, the Beatles original version is pretty amazing too)

Not a big fan of this band, but I love the emotion that they put into this song. Gives me goosebumps.

"I'd break in two over you." Deep, man. Deep.

Songs that are emotionally moving for me:

Not my favorite classical piece, but very touching. It is why I am taking piano lesson now.

A lot of Pink Floyd has an effect on me.

makes me cry. Sad

Depressing and Christmassy!

I can play that on Marimba Smile we did an octet with 2 people per part (Alto, Tenor, Soprano and Bass) and it sounded so beautiful<3

They're instrumental but I think that seriously just adds to the beauty... But I absolutely love Rose's Theme, just listening to it makes me almost wanna cry.

Same for the Tenth Doctor's theme... Except it's even more beautiful...
